Friends

Here's my friend Catie.  She came out to the barn last night and played with me while Momma did stalls and took care of the ponies.  It was fun to play!  I love giving hugs and kisses to my friends :)

No winners here.

We played and we lost :(  It was fun imaging what we would do with the 640 Billion or whatever it finally ended at.  Mom wanted to buy her own farm where she could run it as she pleased and didn't have to take crap from people who don't know anything about horses.  I could have brothers and sisters and lots of playmates again.  It would have been great but oh well.  We're doing okay as it is.  Maybe it's better to keep things simple anyway.  I can still dream.....

Mmmmm. Snacks at the barn.

Let me help you clean that up Miss Fuzzy.  Thank goodness Fuzz is a nice pony.  She doesn't mind if I come in her stall while she's eating and pick up some of her crumbs.

Today's Treasure

Look what we found on our walk this morning!  Isn't it cool?  I dont' think I've ever seen a snail in person.  This little guy was crossing the driveway.  I hope he made it.  I forgot to check on our way back.

City Cousin

This is my cousin, Zeus, who lives in Philadelphia.  He comes and visits every now and then.  I like it when he visits cause then I have company during the day.  He doesn't like to come on our walks like he used to.  I think he gets cold really easily cause Mom puts sweaters on him to go outside.  I know if I had to wear a sweater everytime I took a walk I wouldn't want to go on so many walks either!  He snores at night but it doesn't bother me.  Sometimes we play tug of war with one of my toys.  That's our favorite game to play together.  Zeus is pretty tough for a little guy!

Barn Dog?

I went to the barn today with Mom.  It was great.  So many new smells!  I love exploring the room where all the hay is kept.  I tried a little grain which was kind of yummy.  Definetely not my favorite thing  to eat but it wasn't bad.

We were busy at the barn.  We mucked stalls and scrubbed water buckets.  It was so nice out I didn't mind one bit!  One of Mom's students came and rode one of the ponies.  She is such a nice pony.  She didn't mind when my tie-out was right behind her feet and I got stuck around her.  She just waited til Mom unhooked me and moved me out of the way.  She says I trust the ponies too much and she has to keep a closer eye on me when the ponies are around.  Though I know now not to turn my back on Goldie.  Mom saw her running towards me cause I could just reach into the paddock and was too near her hay but she stopped when she saw Mom coming.

While Mom taught her lesson I got to explore a little closer to the henhouse!  I could smell something in there but it was just out of my reach.  Shucks!  After a little while I decided it was time to just relax so I found a little spot right outside the barn door and laid down.  I could still see Mom while she mucked stalls and swept the aisle and finished up in the barn so I felt okay.  Lilly, Gwen and Abby came out to play with me too which was fun.  I haven't seen them in a couple months so it was nice to catch up!

It was a long day for me.  I'm usually sleeping on the couch all day so to be out in the sunshine and exploring and playing with friends all afternoon really tuckered me out!  Can't wait til Wednesday when I get to go back!

Hello!

Hello!  My name is Morgan.  I am 5 years old (turning 6 on June 26th) and a fabulous Beagle speciman if I do say so myself.

I live in the country now.  When my mom first brought me home, we lived in the suburbs near Philadelphia.  We would go to Fairmount Park and take nice long walks through the woods.  There were always lots of things to smell.

We moved to Chester County in 2009.  I like it here.  Plenty to sniff.  I do miss my friend Ben though who passed away last summer.  Mom does her best to keep me happy and content.

We go on walks twice a day since I don't have a fenced in yard to play in.  I've gotten pretty good at listening to my mom as long as she has a treat in her hand but if I smell a fox, I'm out of here!  It's safer for me to stay on a leash or my long tie-out.  Mom makes sure I don't get tangled or stuck on the rocks around the house.   I like my walks.  We live on a horse farm with woods and trails surrounding us.  There is always lots of things to do and see around here.  Sometimes we go for walks around the horse farm and sometimes we take to the road across the street.  There's also a wildlife preserve behind our house called Binky Lee Park.  It's awesome.  Someone mowed these wide paths through this huge field so you can go all over the place.  That's definetley one of my favorite places to go for our walks.

Sometimes I like to bring one of my "babies" on the walk too.  Today I took Henry the Groundhog with me.  I realized I didn't really feel like carrying him the entire time so we just did a loop around the front yard and then Mom put him inside so we could continue around the pastures.  It's easier to eat horse poop if I don't have something in my mouth already of course!

I also love my "babies".  I have a red dog named Clifford of course, a rabbit, a skunk, a fox, a strange green bird from Dr. Seuss, and my two favorites, Henry the Groundhog and Puppy the Jack Russell.  I keep them on a windowsill in the bedroom so that I can lie on the bed and keep an eye on them at the same time.  I also have a panda who has seen better days.  There are some that will come and go but Henry and Puppy will always have a home with me!  I have become much gentler with them since Ben has been gone.  They give me solace and keep me company when Mom is at work.
